Bryan Ramos Delivers Speech to the Ghandi Foundation of USA

On October 10, 2009, Bryan Ramos, the managing attorney at the Ramos Law Firm, represented the Filipino community to celebrate the 140^th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Ghandi. The event was held that the Martin Luther King Center in downtown Atlanta. The event consisted of a prayer service for the typhoon victims of southern Asia, the Philippines, and Indonesia as well as a ceremony commemorating Ghandi’s influence on the non-violent movement in America and around the world.

Bryan Ramos delivered a speech regarding the severe damage sustained by the Philippine Islands in recent weeks due to the typhoons. Furthermore, Mr. Ramos updated the audience as to the local and national relief efforts, as well as those employed by the United Nations.

Other notable speakers included the Honorable Sanjiv Arora, the Consulate General of India from Houston, Texas, Isaac Farris, the CEO of the King Center, and Subash Razdan, the Chairman of the Ghandi Foundation of USA.

Ramos Participates in Walk for the Empowerment of Asians-Americans

On October 10, 2009, Bryan Ramos, an Asian workers’ compensation attorney, participated in the Center for Pan Asian Community Services’ (CPACS) “Together Empowering Asian-American Walk”. The event was held at the CPACS center in Doraville, Georgia, and included numerous members from the various Asian communities including Filipino, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese among others.

“Georgia has the second fastest growing Asian-American population in the United States,” commented Bryan Ramos, “however, their interests are generally under represented in leadership roles in government.” The event was designed to unify the Asian-American community.

Attorneys Contribute Time In Educating Latino Community About Workers’ Compensation Rights

In conjunction with the Georgia State Bar and the YLD’s Minorities In the Profession Committee, the Ramos Law Firm organized and presented “Law Day” to the Latin American Association in Atlanta, Georgia on June 27, 2009. The event was designed to provide an educational forum to spread awareness in the Latino community about their legal rights. Bryan Ramos, the founder and principal of the Ramos Law Firm, presented a seminar on the “Essential Elements of Workers’ Compensation” which was aimed at the specific obstacles particular to the Hispanic worker. Other seminars covered areas including immigration, family, criminal, and consumer law. Additionally, representatives from the Atlanta Legal Aid, Injured Workers’ Pharmacy, Georgia Legal Services, and the Georgia Law Center for the Homeless participated in the event.

According to Adriana Sola Capifali, the event chairperson and workers’ compensation associate at the Ramos Law Firm, the participation was “ten times that of prior events.” Through these efforts, she hopes to further the mission of “representing Hispanic workers and preventing any unfair exploitation.” The attorneys at the Ramos Law Firm have handled hundreds of claims including spinal cord injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, knee and shoulder pain, amputation injuries, and neurological trauma.

The Latin American Association helps Latino families achieve their aspirations for their academic, social and economic development. The Association accomplishes this through direct programs and integrated community partnerships that focus on youth academic achievement, education and prevention, and services to families with urgent needs.

RLF Attorneys Attend Advanced WC Institute In St. Simons

Bryan Ramos, James Timmons, Adriana Sola Capifali and Julia Lindsey participated in the annual Advanced Workers’ Compensation Institute in St. Simons Island, Georgia. The Institute’s meetings were held from October 2 through October 4. During this time, one topic discussed was the use and implementation of the Integrated Claims Management System (ICMS) at the State Board. Essentially, this computer based system is the State Board’s “online” or electronic filing system. The State Board is attempting to become “paperless” and produce “real time” results. Other topics covered included Professionalism, Recent Appellate Division Decisions, Chronic Pain Management, Legislative Changes, Discovery, and the Future of Workers’ Compensation in Georgia. “The topics discussed are very timely and useful to the everyday practice of workers’ compensation,” said J.J. Timmons.

The Ramos Law Firm attorneys annually attend the Institute. According to Bryan Ramos, “[t]he Committee did a fine job at organizing the seminars and I understand that the Institute raised a substantial amount of money for the Kids’ Chance Foundation, which benefits the children of catastrophically injured workers.”

At the Ramos Law Firm our legal team has over 30 years of combined experience. The Firm was founded in April of 2005 and has been helping injured workers fight for the benefits they deserve since they opened.

Bryan Camacho Ramos is the founder and principal of the firm. He has handled thousands of cases over his career. He has significant trial experience ranging from the simple hand strain to complex catastrophic cases involving complicated medical issues and housing considerations. Mr. Ramos has utilized alternative dispute resolution methods and conferences to reach the best result for his clients. Additionally, many clients have provided testimonials attesting to their positive experiences with the Ramos Law Firm. Mr. Ramos devotes many hours every month to community service events and charities. Additionally, Mr. Ramos is active within the Asian and Hispanic communities.

Mr. Ramos has published dozens of articles on numerous topics involving workers’ compensation in both national and local law journals. He regularly conducts client seminar and lectures. Additionally, he mentors young attorneys who have recently passed the Bar and are just beginning their practice of law.

Gail Bailey is the Senior Paralegal and Legal Administrator for the firm. She has been with the firm since August of 2005 and has worked in Atlanta law firms since 1997. Mrs. Bailey has conducted a number of seminars/webinars through NBI, Inc. for paralegals in both the Atlanta area and on a national level.

Melissa Krick joined the firm in August of 2009 as the firm’s receptionist and has since moved into the position of Legal Assistant/Paralegal. While having only been with the firm a couple of years, she has been in the legal industry for over nine years. Ms. Krick interacts with clients on a day to day basis and is often the first point of contact.
